Sponsored by the Anthony Wayne Area Arts Commission.
Please join us for the annual Anthony Wayne Area Arts Commission event - Art and About 2023: Jim White Memorial Paint Out. This is the tenth annual plein air (open air) event sponsored by AWAAC and it will be held in downtown Waterville on June 22, 23 and 24. Art and About is a three-day event that invites talented, local artists to set up and paint outdoors throughout the historic city. The public is invited to watch the artists paint and interact with them as they work. Art & About is a free family-friendly event which gives the public an opportunity to see these talented artists in action.
Anthony Wayne Area Arts Commission members will be there to share the locations of artists. Artists’ locations will also be noted on the AWAAC Facebook page.
Paintings from the Art & About event will be on display in the Waterville Branch Library, 800 Michigan Ave., from June 24 through July 28. The public is invited to stop in and view the work then cast their votes for the People’s Choice award.
Monetary awards will be given for first, second, third places and the People’s Choice award.
Artists who are interested in painting in this year’s Art & About event please mail Lisa Exner at email@example.com or text her at 419-378-0935 by June 5, 2023 . This will ensure an adequate amount of gift bags that are given to the participating artists.

The annual Waterville Roche de Boeuf Festival is scheduled for September 23, 2023. This is the 50th anniversary of the festival!
The Anthony Wayne Area Arts Commission is sponsoring the artists’ section again this year. The artists’ section always receives very positive feedback from festival goers. We are working to organize and promote a very successful Rue des Artistes (Street of Artists) again this year.
Our purpose continues to be to promote the work of high-quality artists/craftsmen and to enhance the offerings of art at the festival. There will be 30 - 35 artists included in this special area named Rue des Artistes. It will be located on N. 2nd St. between Mechanic St. and Farnsworth Rd.
As you know the Roche de Boeuf Festival sponsored by the Waterville Chamber of Commerce is held in downtown Waterville and attracts thousands of visitors. By participating in Rue de Artistes, you will have the opportunity to meet many potential customers and feature your work for sale. Promotion for this special artists’ section will be included in advertising for the festival.
